arrived in Sydney Central, packed with all my luggage i tried to find my way to Manly Beach at 8 pm. actually i was pretty buggered from the journey having started with a long walk to the station between 5-6am that morning, that i initially couldn't excite myself too much about Sydney, but that should change when i arrived at the harbour where i wanted to catch my ferry to Manly. Suddenly i was just overwhelmed of the whole view around me: all the big enlightened skyscrapers behind me and the bay with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge in front of me- wow :O. moreover it was still very warm 21degrees ish, even at the water and easily the huge seize of the buildings and the brightness of all the lights around me impressed me a lot. i had to wait for my ferry so i decided to have some delicious ice- cream, comparable with the one i Italy- very yummy. what an awesome atmosphere that night. i enjoyed the view with my ice-cream and listened to the music of a man having played the guitar very nicely...at that point of time all the strenghts of the day were blowed away and i was very happy. It was nearly perfect, the only thing that was missing was the man at my side i could have shared all the impressions and atmosphere at the bay with, having nice dinner, going for a walk, eating ice-cream *laugh* fortunately i have my lovely backpack. While i was passing the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House with the big skyscraper becoming smaller and smaller i leaned against my blue 'partner', nearly as tall as a proper man ;) and just smiled on the outer deck of the ferry- hello anna, you're in Sydney passing all the things you only know from tv but actually you've made it and you're here now, 22.000km away from home, experience things other people are dreaming of- aaaaawesome! you really have to think about where you actually are and what you're actually doing....
i think after my australia adventure (if it ends this spring??? who knows, not even me...) i'm still pretty keen to explore more places of that world even i'm yearning for some proper decisions concerning my future life like whether i really could study in oz, or at home, what and where or probably something completely different bla bla bla....but there is really too much to see and to explore to sit 'undoing' at home...
Manly is a nice place, not too big and not too small either, the beach is very nice and only 100 metres away from the hostel i'm staying at the moment- sweet! Nevertheless i'm pretty excited what the heart of Sydney is like, really that hectic and busy? i will see and explore =) ...
hopefully some pictures and the still missing tassie-report will come soon! *crossing fingers*
