in the ghetto in gatton
finally 'ze germans' are united again and they even got somebody i have to introduce, the charming janne. after jenna, janne and me have concluded a part of the roadtrip having started from sydney up the east coast and caro has come back from her travels with her dad, who was coming down to australia for 2 weeks of adventure father-daughter-travels, we all met again in gatton and live there in an absolut sweet little cabin on the caravan park. when we arrived we were all so enthusiastic just about the fact to have our own place with beds (wow) and tables (meaning you could write always when you want and eat properly), stoves (proper warm food-yum) and just a roof over ourselves. "yippieeeeeeeee we have an home again" *lol* again i'm really surprised how you get less and less demanind concerning luxury stuff in life and learn to appreciate the most basic things...that's nice and confirms my saying "you even have to enjoy the small things in your life" it was pretty funny how happy we were with our new home =) big smile on our faces and long cooking for dinner and just sitting on the table for ages, even when it was da
rk because we could use that spectacular invention, light ;) after more than one week with sleeping in the car, eatin under public shelters, chasing public toilets our cabin seems really luxury even it's actually pretty shabby but we appreciated it "do you have the keys for the apartment" =) at the moment it's so messy again but that's no wonder with four female backpackers living together. it looks like after an explosion as soon as you open your backpack, everything spreads everywhere. caro an me were already banned into the 'room' next door because caro is too energetic immediately after she wakes up. so am i and i went for walks in the mornings what was not that nice for our late-risers janne and jenna- sorry girls- hehe ;) gatton itself is not very nice, just a little village but we are here for work anyway. we found a harvest job, tomato picking and that is not the easiest job i've done...it's quite hard work for you are paid by contract, meaning per kilo (90 cents- yuhuu), you're in the sun all the day what is pretty exhausting, you have to bend down all the time, especially me with 1,80 cm ish *puh* or you have to knee to get the ones down near the ground. moreover it's not just picking, firstly you have to fight yourself through the heaps of brushes to find the little grape tomatos and then you have to try to pick them but mostly the fall all down or you can't just grab them because of all the leaves and knobs. our employer is called hussein and we can't really trust this kind of iraqi guy, you know, he's rough and screams a lot and just..weird...it's all really strange and we decided to leave this place on saturday. we all have the impression that it's a fair swindle and we should try to find something else because with not making profit because of different strange fees it's not worth to work that hard.... it's good that we made the experience but i don't have to savour that too much :) i tellyou what, the first thing we say in the morning, uhm our alarm goes at 4 am by the way, that's not that hard though, is where we have new bruises and how many muscles we got to know from our body for we haven't felt pain in so many different spots *outch* then of course you get really really dirty, and on the first day everything was so muddy because it has rained the day before...that's not bad but it's bad if you know that you can't get rid of all that shit for the showers give probably 2 -3 drops....baeh :(
hey, don't look at me only because i'm dirty.....pf
