with heidi on the farm

directly in the natur all day

since thursday last week we're on the heidiland farm near noosa as wwoofas (meaning you work about 4 hours per day on the farm to get accomodation and food for free) it's a pretty nice spot in the hinterlands from noosa, like a little oasis in an absolute calm area, tropical plants on the whole property, very nice! but at the same time we weren't that lucky with our host....it's a 57 year old suisse guy, kind of funny but actually with absolutely no sense for any hygiene. i bet, the health authorities would never put one foot in that household- actually you can't even use the term household...it really looks like an old house that isn't inhabited since ages, all kind of insects everywhere, really everywhere, but we all made heaps of new connections though: hugo the huge spider, conny the cockroach or our many little other friends in the bathroom, kitchen AND, that's what we're a bit worried about, in our bedroom- we' re all not very demanding anymore but that's just disgusting, and then watching him preparing our food with the dishes, that haven't been cleaned since last century, not very nice. nevertheless we're still pretty happy to save our money and the food is eatable for he was a gourmet chef in suisse the half of his life, don't think we're getting delicious food a la carte- not really- bugger- but his soups and hotpots are still good. that's another nice experience, because we only have organic food, everything planted from him in one of his 7 greenhouses, nothing treated, absolutet natural. thus his fridge is filled with nothing :) only the most essential stuff like bread, milk and vegies...have a look how he deals with his food, tuba boxes *pf* who needs that?? that was the reason why the butter tasted like the food from the last evening for everything is open in the fridge and the smell is wandering around all the food. we're cutting our salad every day on our own what is pretty funny "cut all the salad" ...."uhmm...but what is the salad?!???" his greenhouses are very wild and 'untidy' as well, so he never removes weeds but always put cartons on the wild plants on the ground so that you even could enter that chaos...otherwise no chance! after one dinner we wanted to get rid of the dirt of the table cover but then we had to notice that he uses the same prinicple than in the greenhouse....honestly, he has put three absolut dirty covers on top of the others, then we knew why everything was so uneven....soo funny, so we decided to leave everything like it was, wouldn't make any sense to try to tidy up, you wouldn't know where to start anyway. now to his person...you can talk to him and he's just a crazy character, so he listens to opera music sooo loud that you can hear it at the next property (think in aussie- conditions...next property is not next door) in the beginning it was kind of relaxing but when we had to notice that the music is switched on even during night it was kind of scarry, can you imagine the situation in horror- thrillers, everytime the murderer or just the crazy person appears they play this music that actually should be relaxing...or in the crematorium, the same thing....that's really weird and after some conversations with erwin (that's him by the way) we noticed that he's not normal and definitely has heaps of problems with his life so far and and and...just a weird situation, but nevertheless nothing to worry about seriously, even he talked with us about psychotherapy, lovesickness and suicide not only one time...we're just somebody he can talk to and that's a good thing i think, if we can just give him a bit of company.

another thing that is funny...i wanted to know how we will do that with the key and locking the house or so, "you don't have to lock anything here.." alright! a situation you could never ever imagine in good old!

one time he wanted to know if this house would be enough for a german woman (former girlfriend) "uhhmm, that's pretty hard to say, from the spot and the seize in every case...but....hm...everybody is different, so you cannot really say that" we didnt't dare to tell him that his whole house is absolutely no place where a woman would stay voluntary!

fortunately we're pretty mobil with the car and so we spend much time in noosa. all in all not to bad actually, it's not too long anyway! tomorrow we have to paint his kitchen and we don't shell clean the cupboards or even sandpaper them "just paint over it" probably that's the reason why you can't open so many of his drawers, obviously he already did the same procedure a few times :) my easy conclusion....just a place of an old bachelor =)
